On what typically is one of the biggest party nights of the year, the Hip to Be Scared Tour delivered just that! A party! Playing to a sold-out venue, the crowd was really excited for this show. I spoke with fans prior to the start and learned that some traveled for over two hours to see the bands. Everyone was stoked to see this tour and the energy in the room was intense. It was so refreshing to see a little sense of normalcy come back to our lives after the past year! We all were in for a treat.
Fame on Fire
First to perform was the Orlando, Florida based Fame on Fire. The band performed a five-song set. Included in this set was the Sirius Xm Octane #1 Song “Her Eyes” also “Headspace” and ‘’XO Tour Life” as well. Vocals were on point and the band played with purpose. It was a great performance to start the show!
Fame on Fire are; Bryan Kuznitz-vocals, Blake Saul-guitar, Alex Roman-drums, Paul Spirou-bass
Fame on Fire
Next up was Currents from Fairfield, Connecticut. They performed a six-song set. The song “Monsters” and “Kill the Ache” were included in this set. During the performance you could sense energy rising in the venue. The band fed off that vibe and gave a monster performance. Vocally and musically the performance was spot on!
Currents are; Brian Wille-vocals, Ryan Castaldi-guitar, Christian Pulgarin-bass, Matt Young-drums, Chris Wiseman-guitar was not present due to schedule conflict.
"...crowd surfers came like waves..."
Next to perform was Bad Omens from Richmond, Virginia. The band performed a seven-song set. Sirius Xm Octanes Big Uns countdowns #1 song “Limits” was played as well as the songs “Never Know” and “The Death of Peace of Mind “. In my honest opinion Bad Omens crushed their performance! I clearly wasn’t the only person that realized this as fists were thrust in the air and the crowd surfers came like waves in the ocean! Certainly, got the audience pumped for the final act!

ICE NINE KILLS
"...more than just a show..."
Boston, Massachusetts’ Ice Nine Kills came to slay the audience with their show and it surly succeeded! Honestly, I love the music but I have never seen them live so I didn’t know what to expect. Mind blown! This was more than just a show it was an experience. Performing a sixteen-song set, I really couldn’t pinpoint a stand out song, they all kicked ass! Ten songs from the new album “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood” were on the set list. Vocalist Spencer Charnas was amazing showman and clearly loves what he does. Not only were his vocals killer he played out the many songs from the “Horrorwood “album. From chainsaws, knives, axes, shovels and clowns we could all relive the horror movies these songs portrayed! I can not leave out the band. They also got involved wearing their own masks, performing with intensity through the smoke and light show. All in all, it was a phenomenal show and defiantly should be witnessed for yourself! I guarantee that on the very next day which was Thanksgiving, I wasn’t the only person thankful for seeing this epic show!
Ice Nine Kills are; Spencer Charnas-vocals, Ricky Armellino-guitar, Dan Sugarman-guitar, Joe Occhiuti-bass, Patrick Galante-drums
