Indie/Alternative band, Grand Lotus just released their latest EP, The Vibrant Migrant.
Upon listening to the opening track, Haze, it’s easy to say that the song is a great start to the record. It’s got a smooth sort of rock ’n’ roll vibe to it that can be perfect for a nice party on a nice summer day. With the electrifying guitar riffs and incredible vocals, This track shows that we’re off to a good start here.
Moving onto track two, The Feeling - Already, we’re hearing an upbeat vibe in this song. As the song progresses, as we’re listening, the song gives off a reminiscent 90’s/early 2000’s alternative sound to it, which brings in an excellent sound to the table.
Confetti is the third track. This one sounds like a good classic soft rock song. The vocals are almost reminiscent of Chris Cornell in a sense. The lyrics, the instrumentals, the vocals, everything about this certain track is, without a doubt, a pretty favorable track.
Now we got the fourth track, Move! Already, this is giving some sort of vibe that makes you want to just get up and dance around in the bedroom, living room, whatever room that you can dance in at the moment. This is the kind of song that can uplift anyone’s mood and turn it into a happy one.
Track five: Signs. This certain song is almost given off as a track that’s inspired by The Reason by Hoobastank, which was a very huge hit in 2004. Just judging by the instrumentals on this track. Overall though, this track is a good solid track. It’s a good, enjoyable sound to it and is certainly a good listen.
Now, we get to the final track: Bon Voyage. Kind of funny to have a song that kind of title be the last track on an album, huh? Starting off, it sounds like the song is inspired by the era of 80’s synth pop, which is something that is also quite enjoyable. The bass riff halfway through the song is also a great sound, and a perfect addition to the track as well.
In conclusion, the album shows that the two year wait for this was absolutely worth it, and it’s a definite solid record that’s worth listening to, and could easily be a summer favorite to listen to as well.
There you have it, Ladies and Gentlemen, Grand Lotus continues to go and bring amazing tracks into our lives.
